I place G-d before me always.

Look at this with eyes open, while remembering teachings about G-d and personal experiences of G-d.
Then, progress to imagining this sh’vi’ti with eyes closed, but with the same associations in mind.
At first, you might do this as a preparation for prayer, or it might be used as part of the service.
Later, you might have this in mind while davenning or otherwise praying and/or hearing Torah read.
